Officer Community Hub comes online!
Last week, our newest training venue came online. Officer Community Hub (OCH) has three courts, competitive hire costs, equipment storage, and venue administration services and is a very exciting new facility in an area of high population growth, accessible directly by the M1 (Only 1 minute away from the Officer South freeway entrance). Those members that attended these sessions were really pleased with the quality of the venue, and some of the best comments people had to share with us were about more space, particularly for serving and between courts.
This venue is a shift away from our current location base in Dandenong and Keysborough and has been carefully considered by the club throughout the ongoing development of our Strategic Plan that will be made available to members before the end of preseason. We are happy to receive feedback on the venue from all members, and we're excited to hear what you think about Officer Community Hub. The club is also receiving support from Volleyball Victoria during this move as our move here is a key element of their own strategic plan.
Based on our club postcode data, most members will experience either the same or decreased travel timedue to the freeway accessibility. For those members who have an increased travel time, this increase will be around 10 minutes or less. Please see this map for more information on the travel time catchment areas of each venue area.
During the changeover period to this new venue, we will continue to hold Tuesday night junior trainings exclusively at Sirius Collge, Keysborough Campus with an intention of offering junior trainings at OCH later this year. State League (Formerly Reserves) Men and Women will have the option of Tuesday night training either at Sirius College, or at Officer Community Hub (OCH). Our hope is that this allows players the opportunity to train at the venue most convenient for them.
Parent Information Night will be held on Thursday 29/2 and further information on location and time will be released ASAP, and will align with junior trainings for that night.
